Sail Away into a Reading Adventure!

Attention, 4th-6th graders! The next Dis-A-Book sessions will be on January 23rd and 30th. Space is still available for both days. This month we will be reading, discussing, and dissecting the exciting story of Peter Pan before he became...Peter Pan. Peter and the Starcatchers, written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, follows Peter and several of his fellow orphans as they embark on a sea adventure and tangle with bloodthirsty pirates, magical stardust ("starstuff"), unscrupulous sailors, fierce island natives, a secret society, and a monstrous crocodile named Mr. Grin. Join Ms. Erica for pizza and fun at 6PM and collect the next patch for your official Dis-A-Book backpack, provided by the Friends of the Emmet O'Neal Library. Call 879-0497 to sign up today!

Is this a good book for girls with pirates and stuff?

Absolutely. It's a good book for anyone who likes adventure or fantasy. The main female protagonist is a strong-willed, smart girl named Molly, so there's something for everybody in this book, I firmly believe.
