'Twas the Night Before Christmas
Join two of Santa's elves for a totally interactive retelling of the classic Christmas tale The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore, presented by the Atlantic Coast Theater.
The performance will be held Thursday, December 21st from 10:30-11:15am. Children ages 3 and up are welcome!

A Book Group of Mythic Proportions!
Attention, 4th through 6th graders! Sign up for the latest Dis-A-Book on Rick Riordan's modern mythological adventure, The Lightning Thief.
We'll have pizza while we discuss the book, play mythology trivia, try out a readers' theater script, and win prizes! Each session you attend also earns you another reading patch for your Dis-A-Book backpack, courtesy of The Friends of the Emmet O'Neal Library. Space is available for the January 2nd session. Don't miss our Chess Tournament, sponsored by the Friends of the Emmet O'Neal Library!
The tournament will be held on Thursday, December 28th. Check-in is from 9:00 A.M. until 9:30 A.M., and the awards ceremony will be held at 4:00 P.M.

Be sure to turn in your registration forms to the Children's Desk no later than 5:00 P.M. on Friday, December 22nd. You may also email your form to sloan@uab.edu by December 26th. For more information or to download a registration form, click here.

Hogwarts Invades Emmet O'Neal!
On November 17th, Emmet O'Neal library was once again temporarily taken over by the esteemed staff of Hogwarts Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry . Never one to miss a big "scoop," the intrepid and seemingly omnipresent journalist Rita Skeeter was on hand to capture the evening's events on film.
